Recently while riding the NEW
public transportation system...
known as the Phoenix LIGHT rail,
I had the opportunity to sit next
to what appeared to be a homeless man.
My first response, I'm ashamed to say
was one of complete disgust.
He smelled bad, he looked bad
and I couldn't help but laugh.
But then something inside me, the part
in each of us that remembers that
HUMANITY should come first,
became aware that this man might have a
FAMILY...?
FRIENDS...?
CHILDREN...?
People who loved him, and who he loved back,
and then I didn't want to laugh anymore.
I've been thinking a lot about this concept of
HUMANITY first and wondered why
I forgot it for a moment...
on a TRAIN,
in March.
