Could I be NESTING....?????

When pregnant women are about 6 to 7 months along...
they begin NESTING.
It means that we get a BURST of energy to do every project
we know we won't get done when our baby comes.
Well, I know this may sound weird...but I'm nesting.
See...
Cameron comes home in just over 3 months from this beautiful place:

Ukraine...by the Black Sea!

Which I can't believe we will get to see for ourselves!!!
Yippee...the excitement continues to build!
But while we wait...
I have nervous energy to get ALL those projects done before he
comes home!
The last time he saw our backyard...
he had put in the SOD leftover from his bosses yard.
We didn't even have time to lay a sprinkler system.
So....we have a sprinkler system,
and some pavers laid...but we are a long ways away from
being done.
So this is the project I want done before Cameron comes home.
I've also had Ron busy with
redecorating Cameron's room...and the girls' room!
He will be surprised...
and Ron and I will be WORE out!
Photobucket
Our 3rd pallet of pavers....we are getting too old for this!
Photobucket
Ron has the hardest job...I did one row of this and my arm is killing me!
Photobucket
I stick to my job of carrying the pavers to Ron!
Photobucket
Rachel turns up the music and I start dancing!
Photobucket
Ron loves to dance with me!
Photobucket
No matter what Ron and I are doing...we still love doing it together.
Photobucket
Rachel was our photographer...she was home sick from school this day!

Technology FREE zone...

Several weeks ago when church changed from
8 a.m. on Sunday morning to
Noon on Sunday...
well, let's just say I had an epiphany!!!
After yelling at the children all morning to get dressed, brush teeth, brush hair, shower, bathe...you know the normal
getting ready activities...
and NOBODY doing anything but
watching Television,
playing video games,
playing on the computer...video games,
playing Nintendo DS....video games,
or Leap Frog...supposed educational games...
I pretty much HAD it!

We have become a TECHNOLOGY brain infused society...
and I wanted our life back!

So Sunday mornings have become...
"Technology FREE home zone!"

No one was more surprised than me...
that in doing so,
we got ready on time,
we had more peace and quiet,
and we were ready and in the right frame of mind for church!

AWWWW....life is good.
And funny thing is, Christopher noticed enough to run and
grab the camera to take this picture!

A time for REBIRTH....

began for us this weekend at
The Renaissance Festival!
 Photobucket
Ron and I are well known for NOT liking crowds...
so imagine our surprise when
we decided to take our LITTLE family to one of the
BIGGEST
festivals in Arizona.
For Ron and I...it was a first!
Not the kids...they had been before,
and they were NOT surprised that it was to be SOOO much fun.
Chris started out the fun...
on Jacob's Ladder.
Photobucket
Not to be outdone by Jacob himself!
Photobucket
Katie was so determined to make it to the top...
bah humbug...
not even the guy operating it could do it!
Photobucket
The Festival is well known for its entertaining shows...
some which are not appropriate for kids,
so we chose wisely...
and laughed our heads off!
Jacob took cover from the MUD!
 Photobucket
People watching was an EVENT in and of itself!Photobucket
You can't get easily offended to try this event...
this guy TAUNTS you...
just daring you to hit his FACE with a tomato.
Katie and Ron both had some good arms...
but missed everytime!
Photobucket
The kids tried everything...
from archery,
Photobucket
to Jenga,
(by the way Jacob...you rocked at this!)
Photobucket
and the Crystal Sticks....
 Photobucket
Photobucket
paintball mania...where you guys pegged the guy
much to his dismay!
Photobucket
And it was only NOON.
WHEW...we were just getting started!
We still had YUMMY food to eat...
 Photobucket
Corn on a HUSK!
 Photobucket
Steak on a STAKE!
Photobucket
Christopher could not get ENOUGH of this!
Photobucket
For me...I couldn't get ENOUGH of spending the day
with the ones I love...
Photobucket
I mean...how can you not LOVE all these faces????
We ended the day...
Flying high...on the Catapult!
Photobucket
And when I asked my kids if I should do it,
they asked...
"Mom you have to be under 180 lbs!"
Well...that just meant to me...
"Bring it on!"
Photobucket
Oh my goodness...was that FUN!
To show my kids that I still had a little SPUNK left in me
and FLYING that high was awesome!
We found this GREAT little kids spot...where you
could actually do stuff for FREE!
Yes....that's right FREE!
Photobucket
Photobucket
 Last but not Least...
the Jousting Tournament where our Knight...
Sir Alexander won!
Photobucket
We weren't supposed to have the kids for the weekend...
so when we did,
it just made this day even more special!
I sure do love this LIFE!

My LITTLE one turns 6....

Photobucket
Ever since Jacob's 5th birthday...
he has been asking for his NEXT party to be at
Chuck E Cheese!
And despite my efforts to convince him otherwise,
he was certain that he was going to have his 6th birthday at
Chuck E Cheese.
So we invite some of his BESTEST buddies...
Photobucket
Including Carter...
Photobucket
Nathan, Ashton, Grady and Nathan.
Photobucket

Photobucket
This is the ONLY time we could get them all together (sort of)...
at one time.
Photobucket
Old friends reunited...
Photobucket
and Jacob's 6th birthday was a
SUCCESS.
