Summer Project to do list...

Can't believe that one week of
SUMMER BREAK
has already gone by!

With my kids getting older
and the summer's getting hotter...
(okay well they are always scorching hot but it just feels that way)
I have labeled
SUMMER
as our
"we finally don't have homework, activities, projects, ballgames...
we can finally breathe...
now it's time to catch up on everything that fell apart during those whirlwind days of school."
So I've put my kids to WORK this week and I feel like we actually
accomplished something!

Summer Project To Do List:
Week 1--Project 1
Organize and Clean Mom and Ron's closet
(Okay this was mostly my job!)

Please don't judge...but yes I have an extra shoe rack than Ron!
Girls just NEED more shoes!

I love organization and even though it sounds a little ridiculous...
all my hangers are white and all my clothes are organized by color!
Yikes...you found out about my OCD!
Project #2:
Clean out food pantry
    Pantry cleaned!
This was one of the worst projects...
with school lunches being prepared every morning
and last minute dinners prepared...
it had gotten crazy!
Looks good now...thanks girls!
Project #3
Laundry Room
   Laundry room started!
I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE
my drying rack from Ballard Design!
With a very small laundry room I had very little room to hang up wet clothes...
problem solved with this rack!
I also had Ron hang my clothes pins (decorative) and I finally found a place to put our ironing board and iron!
(We are just getting started with decorating this room but I needed it organized before I could start!)
My sweet hubby did all this for me...love ya babe!
Project #4:
Finish Jacob's bedroom

This project seems to be never-ending for me but we are almost finished and even though
Jacob "hates" it all...
we love it!
I finally did his chalk art...
painted the finials for his bed...
and found the cutest vintage fan for the top of his dresser.
The only thing we have left is to frame out the two small windows above his bed to match the large window we already completed.
(Roman shades would be cool too!)
Project #5:
A Clean House

I pretty much did this...
I had the house to myself tonight and I love to find peace not just in the quiet...
but in a clean and organized home.
Project #6 and #7:
Katie organized our game cupboard and my sweet hubby came home from a 10-hour shift to install new
master bath sink fixtures
as well as new hooks for our towels.
(We are in the VERY preliminary stage of redoing our master bathroom so once I have it more together I will share a picture.)

Even though I feel like we have accomplished so much this week,
I know that summer will go by fast with all the
sports, cheer and church camps, family vacations and work.
And much to my families dismay...
my summer to do list is very
LONG!

I did get to take time out for a much needed break to go to the temple with our Young Women this morning.
These sweet girls woke up at 3:30 a.m.
Now that is dedication!
It's my second week in a row to go to the temple...
Last week I stayed inside the temple
for a really long time because the thought of facing life
outside was just too painful...
this week I found a spring to my step...
because going to the temple regularly helps me do that!

Sottopelle

Remember how awhile back I mentioned
I didn't feel well?
I was changing up my diet...
I was exercising...
and I still didn't feel any change.
In fact...
I pretty much felt like crap.

I mentioned to my family about a week ago that I was heading to bed...
even though it was only 8 p.m....
because I was too tired to do anything else.
Rachel told me,
"Mom, you act like it is a surprise to us that you are tired...
you tell us that all the time!"

Well today I found out why!
Since my hysterectomy about three years ago...
I've just never felt like myself.
I had heard from friends that I needed to go to
Sottopelle.
They do bio-identical natural hormone therapy.
And they could fix me!

What I found out today was pretty shocking...
I'm LOW, LOW, LOW
(did I mention LOW!)
on every hormone our bodies need!
So I got these little hormone pellets inserted into my hip right away!

They wanted to know if I wanted to think it over...
ummm...NO!
I think I want to feel better...TODAY!

*******************************
I forgot to mention that these two cuties celebrated their
2nd wedding anniversary
yesterday!
 Sure do love you guys!
Happy Anniversary!

Memorial Day 2013

Our memorial weekend
began
with Ron heading back to work.
With him being in retail,
there is little to no chance of anything known as a
"holiday weekend."

In the beginning it was really hard to see everyone's fun family camp outs, picnics, barbecues and
vacations...
but now I just enjoy
that we miss all the crowds
and that I have one more day to finish and complete my weekend laundry chore!

We did this year enjoy having the grandkids stay with us while their parents got moved into a new home.
Hailee wanted to do
"NAIL SALON"
so Rachel, Katie and myself made it happen.

 So proud of my girls...
Rachel washed and scrubbed all of our feet...
Katie clipped toenails and took off nail polish...
I ran back and forth for more towels, clean water and painted nails.
We should open a shop!
Hailee loves being silly!
Today we had a
POOL DAY!

Leo is a little afraid of the water so he was never without his
"Fishie-wiki-wiki".

Water is still too cold for me!

We played outside...
we played inside...
we watched movies...
we stayed up too late...
we got up to early...
it was perfect!

Happy Memorial Day 2013.

Not as it seems

Have you ever read a blog...
or looked into someone else's life from the outside
and thought...
I wish my life was like that?

Well I have.
I try really, really hard not too...
but I do.

That is why I'm putting it out there...
 that my own life is
not all it seems.
Yes I love my husband...but he is flawed.
Yes I love my children...but they too are flawed.
Yes I have a good job...but like any job, it has stress.
Yes I have a beautiful home...but I don't always want to clean, cook, wash dishes, or do laundry.
Yes I have wonderful, loyal, trustworthy friends...but I don't spend nearly enough time with them.

Then I remember...
that everyone's lives from the outside may look like they have it all together...
but usually it isn't as it always seems.
I know for me I made a decision when I started this blog several years ago...
(when life was really hard)
that I wanted a way to focus on all the good things I had...
all the people and things I loved.

So I hope when I share a blog post...
that even though I'm choosing to share the good...
that you will know
that we aren't perfect.
I get sad, lonely, hurt, stressed, tired and angry...
but for 30 minutes a night...
I get to focus on all the people I love...
and share the GOOD!
  School is out!
Time to celebrate with our favorite ice cream...
lots of lazy pool days...with yummy food...
and this kid whose an official driver!
(Yikes...I'm scared!)

On a final note:
I miss my buddy Marcia!
Preston and Marcia just went to Israel for 12 days...
came home for 3 days
and left me for the entire summer!
I can ALWAYS count on Marcia and I miss her when she is gone!
Preston reads my blog to her because she doesn't
do computers...
so I know she will get this message:
HURRY HOME...I MISS YOU!
